-NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS WITH EVENING APPOINTMENTS-
I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) working under the supervision of Cayley Edmonds, MS, LPC-S. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2015 and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2022. I moved to Huntsville in 2022 with my partner and our three fur babies. I have spent time in several inpatient psychiatric facilities as well as outpatient counseling facilities and have gained experience working with diverse populations with a variety of needs. In my free time I enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Throughout my clinical experience, I have worked with all ages in a variety of settings. I have discovered that I am passionate about creating an open and warm environment for people to safely explore themselves, their goals, and their challenges. I have worked primarily with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and general life stress. I also have a passion for working with individuals who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.
I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is very important for growth to happen in a counseling setting. I strive to create an environment that allows for each person to feel safe, heard, and motivated to share and process their life experiences and thoughts without judgment. In my practice, I utilize aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered counseling, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based counseling depending on client needs. I believe each client is unique, and I enjoy collaborating with clients to set meaningful goals as well as steps to reach those goals.
In my office, I strive to create a space that is inclusive, supportive, non-judgmental, respectful, and safe for each person. My goal is for clients to experience a sense of acceptance, openness, and unconditional positive regard. I believe this allows people to explore life's obstacles in a way that will naturally lead to healing and growth. I understand the challenges of allowing ourselves to share our thoughts and experiences with another person, and it is my goal to walk alongside each client throughout this process.
