Meet our Staff

"I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFTA). I received a Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. With my background of moving around and living in Alabama for the past 8 years, I bring a well-rounded charm to the therapeutic setting. The majority of my counseling experience has been working with children ages three and up. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and am currently pursuing my certification to become a Registered Play Therapist. My background consists of working in private practice along with non-profit, state, and federally funded programs that help serve children across the state. I incorporate play and art therapy activities into my counseling sessions. I find that both play and art can be therapeutic for anyone of any age. Learn more and schedule with Anna here!

 I have always had a passion to help others succeed and have spent much of my adult life in service to individuals and families. My personal experience can be traced back into childhood when I experienced my first rudimentary social work intervention. I truly believe this work is my life calling, not simply a calculated choice.  Perhaps more importantly, I am a person who knows what it is like to experience suffering, loss and the unanticipated consequences of complicated grief.  I am the owner of Grand Oaks Counseling and a practicing therapist licensed for the State of Alabama. I hold a BS in Psychology from Athens State University, a MA in Clinical Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Post-Master's certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University. In addition to my formal education, I am also trained in EMDR therapy for trauma and have a certification in religious trauma.  I consider mental health and wholeness inseparable and believe the best therapy takes into account all parts of a person, and their environment, and teaches clients to do the same.  Learn more here!

I am the front desk receptionist at Grand Oaks Counseling and the first person you'll come in contact with when you reach out! I have a BS in Psychology from Athens State University and  am currently enrolled at UNA, pursuing a Master's in Clinical Counseling. I enjoy this field and learning as much as possible within it. I have a passion for people and their hearts, so being the first person someone sees when they come in and being the last person they see when they leave is a joy to me.
